The Dorcioman Method
Neurological Movement Rehabilitation
Delia Dorcioman
More Than Movement!
I’ve always believed that exercise is about so much more than simply getting fitter. It can give us back confidence, freedom and independence. It can help us trust our bodies again and, sometimes, rediscover things we thought we had lost.
For the past 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of helping hundreds of people do exactly that.
My journey began in personal training, but over the years my work has become increasingly specialised. For six years I’ve worked in GP Exercise Referral, supporting people living with long-term health conditions, chronic pain and lifestyle-related disease. This experience has taught me that there really is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach to movement.
Every person has a different story, a different body and a different starting point.

A Passion for Neurological Rehabilitation
*
Three years ago, I completed my Level 4 Exercise Referral qualification for Long-Term Neurological Conditions, and this has become an area of my work that I am particularly passionate about.
I now lead weekly Parkinson’s exercise classes as well as working one-to-one with people living with Parkinson’s and MS, and those recovering from stroke.
*
I love helping people discover what their bodies are capable of.
That might mean improving balance or mobility, becoming stronger, reducing pain or simply having the confidence to do something independently again. Progress looks different for every person — and sometimes the smallest change can make an enormous difference to everyday life.
*
It is this experience that has helped shape The Dorcioman Method: a specialist approach to neurological movement rehabilitation that combines evidence-based exercise with encouragement, understanding and a genuine belief in the potential of every individual.
Supporting the Whole Person
My approach has never been about seeing a diagnosis and then prescribing a set of exercises.
I see the person before I see the condition.
I want to understand what matters to you. What would make your everyday life easier? What have you stopped doing that you would love to do again? Where have you lost confidence? And what could greater strength, mobility or independence make possible for you?
My role is to help you work towards those things safely and realistically, while encouraging you to recognise and build upon what you can do.
Alongside my neurological work, I specialise in MSK and joint-pain rehabilitation and have developed a particular interest in women’s health and menopause. I hold qualifications in nutrition and exercise for menopause and am a certified GGS Women’s Coaching Specialist.
I also work collaboratively with Harpenden Trust and HH PCN to make specialist exercise accessible to people within the wider community, and I regularly contribute to professional development and mentor other trainers.

My coaching style blends evidence-based practice with empathy and empowerment.
I'm passionate about long-term impact: building independence, reducing medication reliance, and transforming quality of life.
Experience You Can Trust
*
Over the past decade I've worked with well over 300 people through personal training, GP referral, specialist rehabilitation and group exercise.
*
In 2025 I was incredibly proud to be one of just 8 people shortlisted nationwide for Physical Activity hero at the UK ActiveAwards. In the same year, I was named Colleague of the Year within Everyone Active St Albans contract. The recognition meant a great deal to me, but ultimately it's the individual stories that matter most.

Seeing someone reduce their pain, regain a little independence, become stronger or simply begin believing in their body again - that is why I do what I do!
